Duncan A. Friedman, M.D.

Dr. Friedman has been in practice in San Antonio for 11 years. He is a retina specialist that treats retinal detachments, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. He also focuses on uveitis and neuro-ophthalmology cases.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Brown University in Rhode Island, Dr. Friedman returned to his home city of New Orleans for medical school. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham/Callahan Eye Hospital and proceeded to a 2-year vitreoretinal fellowship with Retina Consultants of Alabama. This surgery-focused fellowship allowed him to acquire the necessary skills to treat retinal detachments, macular puckers, and diabetic retinopathy with enhanced surgical techniques.

Dr. Friedman enjoys spending his free time with his family exploring all that San Antonio has to offer. He is particularly interested in learning other languages, culinary arts, and spending time with his family.

Thomas O. Oei, M.D.,

Dr. Oei is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases and retinal surgery. He is in private practice in Kerrville and San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Oei finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio before entering medical school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Mississippi. This was followed by a Retina and Vitreous fellowship at Southern Illinois University.

Dr. Oei’s focus involves treatment of macular degeneration as well as macular puckering, macular hole, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment.
